This is a cover by a great band on SoundCloud called bentcousin bentcousin, who aren't cousins but are twins, Pat and Amelia.

They sent me this song as a demo that was actually pretty wonderful by itself. At first I thought it was pretty sad but realized it kind of reflects some of the things I am thinking now too. I cheated and built the midi parts in Band in a box software and changed the instrumentation (example: changed an extra guitar part into cellos. Sam Reynolds Samfranklin really helped me mix it. He moved some of my "stuff" guitars and other instruments, away from the center and panned them to the sides. He and I adjusted the mix during a midnight facetime session. I'll have this up on my bandcamp page for download as a donation.

    I keep on waiting
for something special to happen to me
    When did I start
to expect, when did this feelin begin

    When I was a child
    Things were all set out
    Now I have to see...
I will never be what I wanted to be
And I will never see what I want to see

    Mat's got time for jesus
It's where he wants to be
Mat's got time for Spike Lee
But Mike Leigh, he won't see

    (Repeat bridge and chorus).
