About
Infatuated with Drum & Bass upon being exposed to in 1995 in the cuts of Los Angeles, Peter Be picked up decks in 1999 and taught himself how to spin playing an eclectic mix of music fromthe start.
After relocation to Monterey in 2001, Peter Be began taking the small city by storm by becoming resident DJ at several prominent Monterey night clubs as well as throwing numerous events and undergrounds. With several years in the area under his belt, exposure in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Jose, and Santa Cruz, and the reputation to draw a crowd, Peter began throwing themed drum and bass parties at the county’s largest nightclub; Club Octane. With prominent events such as “Money $hot”, “Quarantine”, “Luscious”, “Napalm 1 & 2”, & “Deep Rooted”, Monterey had now become the new stateside hub for Drum & Bass.
More recently Peter Be and San Diego native DJ Senator run a monthly Drum & Bass party called “Odyssey” in Monterey that began March 2009 and has grown tremendously over 2 years ran keeping the Drum & Bass worlds’ attention on Monterey.
Over the past 10 years years Peter Be has shared the stage with some of Drum & Bass and Dubsteps’ finest producers, DJ’s, & MC’s including; Noisia, DJG, Method One, Matty G, Juju, Mayhem, Infiltrata/12th Planet, Gridlok, Mix Master Mike, DZ, Noah D, Bachelors of Science, Calculon, Calvertron, MC Dre, Submorphics, ASC, Origin, Lukeino, Roomate, Danny The Wildchild, MC Child Kozee, Eprom, UFO!, We Bang, Dirty Deeds, Star Eyes, Peanut Butter Wolf, Direct Feed, Kemst MC, The Bassist, Machete, Ill-Esha, and many others.
Peter Be also is a formidable house DJ and one of the creators of the legendary house monthly “Mint” in Monterey alongside Jesse Gonzalez, Ivan Ruiz, & Fred Parra and has graced the decks with some of house music’s biggest and most legendary names including DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill, Derrick Carter, Doc Martin, Lawnchair Generals, DJ Heather, Mark Farina, Johnny Fiasco, Raoul Belmans, Roy Davis Jr., Charles Feelgood, Spetro, Rick Preston, JT Donaldson, Lance DeSardi, Dizzy, Jon Pegnato and many others.
On top of his Mint residency he was also a resident for “Curve” a Saturday night house weekly also held at Club Octane that ran for 3 years.
