I'm loving the switches back and forth 12/8 and steady 8ths :) sounds really good. all the sampling you do really creates a nice atmosphere
trap with metal growls? fuckin sick :) just for a suggestion, you could have vocoded the growls through a nice deep distorted saw tooth for a wicked growl "synth" :)
I am listening to this on my phone, but the snare presence is still a little bit. sweet automation though :)
these two alternating filters here sound great :)
WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT
I love that sample. I can't even say I wouldn't use it if I had it :p The trap/rap intro is very appropriate for the intro of this dubstep track, even though it is done quite a bit. The tracks got some great grooves and you did a good job re-creating lots of these popular sounds (they're all meaty and delicious) but I've heard almost all of these exact sounds and genres mash-ups in other songs by famous artists. They sound great and I love how you used everything rhythmically though :) Good work mister
Mm, those swingin' hats make my day. Those organ stabs make me feel pretty happy about those whole feel of this track. Definitely shufflin' and liquid dancing is appropriate for this track. The drum breaks at 1:25-ish were pretty fresh :) I greatly enjoyed them. Honestly though, with how much vocals were used, it does feel like a pop track. I would have liked to hear a nice keyboard solo (even though the piano licks were nice) but premiering some actual synth work without the lyrics seems like that's what this track sure could use. But the feel is even, good flow, and the lyrics are sing-a-longable (haha words). I enjoyed all two minutes of it :p
I love the repetitive motion of this track.. it makes those percussive elements you added feel very trance-inducing. I honestly enjoyed the whole thing, I don't really have any criticism; the track made me feel great and chilled out.
Great atmospheric intro; your format pad synth in the intro is very nicely placed and isn't too loud to grind on your ears. The drum fills are tasty and the left-to-right panning on the vocals makes the whole thing pleasing to the whole stereo spectrum. The drop has a lot going on; it's kinda hard to pay attention to, and I think that's because of the fuzzy sounding drum section. If that snare and kick drum had a little more snap it might stick out a bit more in the mix, making those awesome growly basslines stick out a bit more. Other than that, your sampling is nice and a breath of fresh air, and you keep that atmospheric feeling going through the entire drop with that sawtooth synth that you are playing those backup chords with. Very glitchy, but I bet that's what you were going for :) Good work
THROW YA PAWS UP
Hahaha, sorry. It was pretty awesome. I mean, the song is pretty well structured and if you made the beat behind the rap, there are some clean synths and effects and it sounds very well organized rap-wise; but that's just the thing. I've heard a lot of the techniques used in this track in almost... every rap song I have ever heard. "Yeah boi/yeah gurl, break sumthin, get kush, twerk yo ass" and a host of other lyrics are basically some of the most staple things ever said in a rap song. It is well put together and it is catchy and I would party to this, but if you were trying to do something new... sadly, you didn't :( Great job though. Just needs more creativity.
I haven't heard such an old school house vibe in such a long time. I usually try to stay away from the old 909 drums, but for some reason they fit rather nicely. Personally I would have tried to use some more snappy, tight feeling samples, but this all works well with the 90s-esque pad and that bright-as-shit piano. Some of your chords that you use are pretty stereotypical, but then you throw in some really jazzy sounding chords; they just last a little longer than I would have liked them to. I gotta say that the introduction of those tekky drums is actually pretty fresh, I liked that beakdown a lot. Whoever that singer is that you are sampling, she sounds great; it fits so well together with the rest of the track. Overall, excellent job, makes me feel like I'm back in the days of house and trance!
It's really hard for me to give any critique at all on this. All the elements are beautiful... thoroughly listened to and enjoyed. The new age drums added on top of the orchestral work and choir was top notch. They were basic but hit the spot; loud, but didn't take away from the emotion of the track.
In the first clip, I would have liked to hear some more variation in the actual synth work. Just kinda felt like constant chugging with mario coin samples and other samples to fill in the gap rhytmically.
The second one is better though. Nice rhythm choices while still using the same synth and keepin' it fresh and terror-step sounding.
The third is is a good old triplet segment .
In all of them, your choice of metal-esque drum fills are much to my liking as a metal fan. Definitely adds to the grime
There are some heavy sidechaining elements in this song, but it works well with the genre you shot for. I never thought coldplay could sound really good as progressive house :p Really chill, well produced track. The arrangement is a bit basic, but it'd be easy to throw this into a mix no problem. Good shit man I enjoyed mellowing out to this
The atmophre in this track is tasty and well used; your effects work well with your guitar track. The arrangement of drum samples and fills are great and rhythmically pleasing, but there are just a few very small things. Like I'm not sure if it was just me or not, but I could clearly hear the bassy end of your snare sample at the intro of the track. Also some more solid sub bass elements in the synths would be appropriate, I think. I'm not saying they aren't there, they could be more present though. You work in that single vocal sample nicely though, good work. I enjoyed it :)
It is completely ridiculous how much I love how retro but new school this is. The song is incredibly catchy and has a "feel good" atmosphere about it. The kick and snare stand out just the perfect amount, and that drop after the buildup just made me feel quite happy with the rest of the track. All your synths worked well with each other, and I personally wouldn't change anything because it's the sound you were goin for; any change would throw off that mix. Cyberpunk isn't usually something I listen to but this track is done nicely :) Good work buddaye
good shit jarrydn :) gotta love those syncopated break beat rhythms
you deserve all of my fives
I like that you utilize that noisia esque warble bass, personally though I would have loved to hear more variation in the second drop, or more noticeable variations. awesome track though bro! keep that shit up
awesome. I love your use of that sample. plus the triplet breaks are just icing on the cake
