Need a gift for a gifted musician?
Shaheen Samadi (December 16, 1993), stage name Shaheen, is a local rapper from South Windsor, Connecticut. Shaheen first started writing lyrics at the age of fifteen, as a way to search for his inner-self and fight depression that was caused by being bullied in school, having a hard time fitting in with groups, relationships, and differences he had with most people. By the end of 2010, he started practicing recording music and in 2011 he released a song called “Haunted”, about a girl who was abused as a child and how it had a negative effect on her growing up. Although Shaheen has not released a mix-tape yet, he continuously writes lyrics and records music very often, waiting for the right time to release his material. His most recent single called “Friend-Zone” explores the romantic culture of the youth in America, coming from a perspective of a young shy guy who has little success with women. Shaheen occasionally releases freeverses as well, such as “Never Learn” and “Driftin”. His first performance was on November 2012, in front of an audience of over 200 people, receiving great audience reception. Shaheen’s purpose in music is to convince people to question everything they have been told was truth, such as religion, capitalism, and wants all his listeners to break free from the conformist culture that consumes us. He will continue his music career and continue to release more songs.
