Artist Info: Shaheen Samadi (born on December 16, 1993), known by his stage name Shaheen, is an American rapper and a Persian descent. At the age of fifteen, Shaheen started writing lyrics in his room every night before he went to bed, hoping to release some of his negative emotions that derived from bullying, social seclusion, and heartbreak. By the end of his junior year of high school, he was known amongst his friends as a great and inspiring lyricist that is just too different from other forms of rap lyrics. By November of 2010, Shaheen started recording his lyrics, and began learning how to write to beats and instrumentals to keep his flow disciplined. By the time he graduated high school in 2011, people in his class known Shaheen as a progressive liberal rapper, and a Persian lyricist who brings meaning into his words. Attending University of Connecticut a few months later, Shaheen did not stop pursuing music, as he was rapping for his classes, writing raps during lectures and lunches. By June 2012, he released a song called “Haunted”, a song about a beautiful girl who is known to have an attitude in school due to her scarring memories and her dysfunctional family. Shaheen, as a bullied teenager growing up, wishes to inspire people with his music one day to embrace themselves for who they really are, and encourage people to break out of the social norms that bind them. Shaheen believes that with the right guidance, inspiration, and hope, we can change the world. He wishes to do that with music, since music had a tremendous effect on his life growing up.
