Based in Los Angeles, Perfect Driver (real name Matthew Willems) is a DJ, Producer, and Label Head at Perfect Driver Music.
Perfect Driver's sound is a unique blend of house, hip hop, and funk. It combines traditional influences with digital technology and features house grooves, hip hop beats, exploratory effects, and sometimes, humorous samples.
Matthew was raised on Classic Rock and early 90's Hip-Hop in hometown Green Bay Wisconsin, a three hour drive north of house mecca, Chicago. Searching for sounds beyond the local radio dial he quickly became a child of the digital music revolution, tuning in to BBC Radio and discovering new artists online in forums. Apart from his regional scene, he developed a passion for dance music, fostering it as he traveled Europe, South America, and New Zealand. While back in the United States and working in the print advertising industry, he began to DJ and produce, eventually relocating to Los Angeles.
Fast forward to 2012 and Matthew launched his record label, Perfect Driver Music. With releases inspired by producers such as, Jesse Rose, Mark Knight, Zombie Disco Squad and Eats Everything, he continually strives to curate and release quality tracks for the underground dance community.
