Paul J Penton is one of Australia’s new breed of craft based songwriters. Having studied lyric writing and commercial songwriting with Berklee Music College and attending seminars with lyric legend Pat Pattison, hit songwriter Jason Blume as well as Nashville #1 writer Steve Seskin Paul J Penton’s songs are beginning to reflect the maturity of his studies.
Paul grew up in Western Victoria where there was not much else to do but play guitar. He wrote his first song at fifteen and has been writing now for almost 30 years building up a solid foundation of worthwhile material. Paul has had success in getting two cuts on a soon to be released CD by Queensland Country artist Ron Sellars and is actively pitching for Film, TV and album opportunities in the United States
Paul meets regularly on with a group of like-minded Melbourne writers for encouragement and critiques and actively Co-Writes with several Melbourne, interstate and international songwriters. Paul is also a member of Nashville Songwriters Association International.
