“Ambient, operatic, electroacoustic-neoclassical church music with a 1,000 year echo into the future” - @1000timesno (Temporary Residence Ltd.) Pantree Owl has been described as “one of the most inventive and arresting bands in Bloomington” - Andy Goheen (booking - The Bishop) and it is there that members Christine Papania (soprano/keyboard), Erica Zappia (viola), Garrett Semmelink (violin), and Ben Glawe (electronics) met at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. Eager to combine their passion for classical music with their modern, avant-garde and electronic influences, Pantree Owl wrote and recorded their first work entitled “EP” in the spring of 2010. Pantree Owl is currently finishing their second work, which will be a significant evolution both musically and sonically from their previous work, and is expected in 2012.
