As you'll probably remember, we've seen some nice SoundCloud integrations lately, like Moby's tweet-your-review campaign or Imogen Heap's album pre-release page. This month, we'd like to showcase a couple of other users that used SoundCloud in a nice way. Let's start with Germany-based record label Up My Alley who are using SoundCloud to great effect on their website. We just posted an interview with label manager Joscha who shares some insights about how he makes use of the web. Click here to read it.
UK-based digital PR agency Stayloose also told us about a nice use of their SoundCloud account to present their newest tracks on their new website. As Matt kindly describes, "I don't know how I'd live without Soundcloud. It's a pretty much the perfect audio platform as far as I'm concerned". We're flattered!
Swedish Eurodancer Basshunter offered an exclusive pre-listening session of his latest album Bass Generation. To unlock the session, all you needed to do was to post a tweet or a status update on Facebook. And finally, the British NME picked up a new track by Girls that got uploaded by Matador Records, one of last weeks label additions on SoundCloud
Yes, that's right. We will have a first SoundCloud user chat this coming Friday, October 2nd at 6.00pm (CET) and make it a monthly series. It'll be a great place for you to simply tune in and chat with, provide feedback and ask questions to the SoundCloud staff. We will announce the details about that on our blog and Twitter so make sure to check back there for the latest news but the chatroom will be located here. We hope you'll find some time to join us as we will share some news with you about the anniversary-release due in just a few weeks.
Long-time SoundCloud users Röyksopp are currently running a remix competition for their track Tricky Tricky. There's only just about a week left until October 5th to submit your version of the song if you want to give it a shot, there are some great prizes up for grabs too. Read our blog post for full details.
The Incredible Bongo Band just announced their remix competition for the track Last Bongo in Belgium. SoundCloud is in with a PRO Max account for the winner and a PRO Light account for the two runners-up. But that's not all, click here to see all prizes and to read about the contest details. Remixes can be submitted until November 30th.
We're excited about Zero7 choosing yours truly to present their new record Yeah Ghost. Not much to add here except for: check it out now, it's great - share it, embed it, show it some love!
If you have read the interview with newest Clouder Henrik, you'll have noticed that we've started ramping up our activities around the SoundCloud API. We are strong believers of the power of external applications and layers built on top of the SoundCloud platform and are excited about the things to come. To lay some groundwork for that, we recently announced a series of wrappers written with the help of external developers and added them to the list of libraries of the API documentation. To get the details, read the posts about the C wrapper, the ActionScript wrapper and the PHP wrapper. So if you're a developer, make sure to dive into the documentation and feel free to contact us if you have ideas about apps that could be built on the API. We'll be happy to assist you.
We're still looking for great additions to the team so don't forget to check our job openings, apply or spread the word.
