Downtown Artists sensational young electric pop singer Ozonna’s biggest performance is a headline gig at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York where you can witness a spectacular performance of stage acrobats, 2 contemporary dancers dressed up as feathers, one simple grand piano, big chandelier lights hanging from the ceiling, fantasy orientated almost like a circus on stage with visuals that compete with musicals or Kanye West old tours. It really is a mammoth spectular of a great theoretical movement in which Ozonna showcases his unique music and high end live shows that will gravitate you, leave you breathless and truly captivated.
Back to 2011 Ozonna’s debut E.P titled ‘I Love Me’ features his unique blend of Electro pop and twisted soul alternative music and will be released later this year. Ozonna's vocals laced over the top makes his music truly stunning and rather unique. ‘I love me’ is a strong empowerment song about confidence and excelling yourself in actions and everyday life. Ozonna lyrics are infectious, witty, and intelligent with leading strong pop hooks. The remaining 3 songs on his EP follow the same route with a highly imaginative approach on creating music that is both inspirational and different. Ozonna world is portrayed in his EP from his lyrics that are an outlook of his perspective on the world but would somehow become the mass public’s perspective of how they view the world also. Ozonna counts all his songs as ‘Inspirations’ to people, his aim from the offset is to sell his fantasy as a musical movie that people can relate to people, that will ultimately change their life and have a huge impact.
Ozonna is a young ambitious, somewhat extrovert confident individual who is highly out spoken and has a presence that is both endearing and dominating. He grew up in Nigeria to a famous Dad who was a governor of Nigeria. At the age of 8 Ozonna’s Dad moved the whole family, Ozonna is the eldest of 5 to Washington DC with his work then at the age of 11 they moved to Kensington in London. He came from a very strict and liberal upbringing where TV shows such as MTV were banned from the house hold, due to his parents fearing Ozonna and his siblings mind would be corrupted by peer pressure and the media. However it wasn’t long before Ozonna found shows such as MTV at school and really found his love for music. He picked up a Ukulele at the age of 14 and ever since then has not looked back, he has been writing songs and perfecting his craft ever since.
In recent years Ozonna has been busy getting his music out there slowly on viral sites such as MySpace and Twitter and through this generated a great buzz in a short amount of time and already counts Paris Hilton and Marina and the Diamonds whom both have claimed to be fans of his music. Ozonna in a year not only has created a new genre of music but has a great online presence. He counts Lady Gaga and Beyonce as part of his biggest inspirations in regards to their overall visuals and music. There is no denying that Ozonna has big dreams and aspirations to do well in music, from the offset he wants world domination and if wanting to headline his own show at Madison Square Garden is enough to go by then it’s likely that this young artist’s determination and sheer talent could just get him to that destination.
At the moment Ozonna is currently tucked away in the studio working on new material for his album with some of the best UK producers and he also will be producing half of it himself. Expect to see more of him really soon where he also will be touring across the UK to support the release of his single. Also when Paris Hilton comes to the UK next she has personally asked to see him perform.
