Having toured the length and breadth of the UK during much of 2007 & 2008 Outraze took it upon themselves to concentrate more on there sound and early in 2009 disappeared in to the studio for several months.
Working alongside producer John Rivers who has worked with bands and artists such as The Specials, Ocean Colour Scene and Paul Weller, Outraze moved the sound of the band forward and have created their own brand of fresh riff driven rock’n’roll while ensuring their influences remain a solid foundation of the Outraze sound.
The bands first & second singles went straight in at number 1 in the Play.com Indie Charts beating the likes of The Kings of Leon, The Maccabees, The Yeah, Yeah, Yeah's & Elbow to the top spot!
The singles received raving reviews and air play from Radio 1's Edith Bowman, Xfm's John Kennedy & Clint Boon, Kerrang Radio, Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music as well as a number of BBC radio local stations on there Introducing shows. On the back of this success they were approached by the NME to be featured as their unsigned band of the week.
Hailing from Banbury in Oxfordshire and with an ever increasing fan base, Outraze are intent on taking their brand of sweeping, black-hearted riff based rock’n’roll to the world!!!
'Under The Influence' boasts a chorus of sweeping, breathless rock, and verses of black-hearted riffs that'll send shivers down the spine.......Leeds Music Scene
It's a fine, straight-forward rocker with big drums, big guitars and lyrics that you can shout and punch-the-air to at afternoon festival sets......God Is In The TV
Outraze have crafted the songs here beautifully and the mix and production gives a really crisp but thunderous sound. Impressive all-round or what?? Outraze sound like a really mature bunch of rockers; total unity and stunningly tight, I don't think the guys couldn't have done any better than this. Outraze just nail it, on the button, stone dead! Great work!!.........Toxic Pete
Banbury based “Sleaze’n’Roll” .........NME
