Outputmessage may already be known to you thanks to his previous work on the Ghostly label. The tracks Bernard's Song and Sommeil formed arguably the brightest moments on the Idol Tryouts 1 & 2 compilations respecitively and his remix of Dabrye's Hyped-Up Plus Tax (2003) has become semi-legendary via turntables this and that side of the Atlantic. In 2006, Melodic Records released Bernard's debut LP, Nebulae, which impressed many with its hypnotic and seemingly danceable sound reminiscent of classic Kraftwerk, New Order, or Aphex Twin. In 2008, Bernard returned with the Resurface EP updating Nebulae with a sound both futuristic and old school with its hints of techno and Krautrock. Meanwhile, Bernard has been involed in a myriad of projects. He has two DJ nights in DC, called MARQUIS and FLAT OUT, an electronic pop/rock band called New Models, and an outfit called Dmerit with roommate and fellow MARQUIS DJ Micah Vellian. Central to everything, however, is Bernard's work as Outputmessage. There's a new album on the horizon soon, which promises to be more pop and dancefloor-oriented, and even have some of Bernard's own vocals.
