Orxata Sound System are a musical collective born in 2003 in the city of Valencia with the aim of merging electronic dance music with traditional valencian singing.In our repertoire you can find from electro, techno and drum&bass to ragga, dub and hip hop.Currently the group consists of four singers, a trumpeter, a bassist and programmer/sampler.In 2006 we won the Disclosure Ovidi Montllor Awards with the demo “orxata” and in 2008 with our first record “1.0″ -the letters of which were edited by the users of our website using a wiki- we won the Best Pop-Rock album Ovidi Montllor Award.Since 2003 we have been publishing our work on the Internet under Creative Commons licenses, allowing us to act on most of the Catalan-speaking area, as well as touring through Morocco, France, Belgium, Austria and Germany.We now present a new work, the maxi single 2.0 beta 2, where we make a trip from the 90′s dance music to Caribbean rhythms.
