About
Constantly looking for new sounds and pushing global bass vibes over the limits, “nowadays, Ophex is one of biggest names of Baile Funk“ – GenerationBass. Co-running weekly “Club Tropicana“ nights with in Vilnius, Ophex (Karolis Rimkus) is definitely the first Lithuanian producing brazilian ghetto sounds.
The 22 year old has released or is about to release tracks on acclaimed labels, such as Ghettophiles, Faluma, Be Bonkerz, Club Popozuda, LeaveLate, and an MTV Iggy approved free album just dropped. Having dozens of tracks still unpublished, Ophex colours his DJ sets with bootlegs you never expected and tends to surprise the dancefloor with combinations of baile funk, kuduro, baltimore, tropical bass, uk funky, mashups and even some 90s rave.
Always on the look for singers/MCs (released an album with SapaBonde), collaborators (release with JSK) and remix opportunities (remixes for Chris de Luca, Hybu, Aout6, Mark Splinter, Vaiper etc.), Ophex is working intensely to spread the word and get deeply involved in tropical bass music.
