Bedroom Producers People making beats and tracks for the love of it
This is a demo of a song I've been working on for a while. I'm quite proud of the composition; however, I'm not too happy with the final product. I'm an amateur producer and have crappy recording equipment so it doesn't sound as good as I'd like. My first demo sounded a lot better, but when I made that demo I didn't have lyrics, so I was just singing gibberish. I don't know what is wrong with my ears, but for some reason I was incapable of recreating the original sound or better. I certainly fell short, and unfortunately it takes away from my performance and the composition. I sure hope people can still manage to enjoy this and see the potential in it, had it been recorded in a studio or at least by a decent producer. The heavy reverb is intentional, but the nasty frequencies on the vocals and the muddiness is far from intentional. Yeah, I know, excuses excuses, but I felt like it had to be said, because I was very happy with this song but the final mixdown I made is just kinda depressing after putting all the hard work into writing and recording....

@Vortex in a Bag: yeah, i'm quite proud of this song as well, but this recording really doesn't do it justice. not only did i know significantly less about mixing 4 months ago, but i had a lot of equipment issues as well. the vocals are super thin sounding and i didn't even cut the low end. once i have better gear i'll be sure to rerecord it. glad you can hear the potential in my song though :)

@Saint Olav: PS: USE HEADPHONES WHEN LISTENING. OTHERWISE IT WILL SOUND EVEN SHITTIER THAN IT ALREADY DOES.

Yeah, I see what you mean about it getting muddy here... too bad. Other than that, I think the song was composed really well.
