Onetalk is the creative partnership of Canberra now Melbourne/Sydney beatmakers Joe Victory and Josh Molony. Having formed a unique musical connection writing and performing together in live bands around the Canberra area for over 7 years, the two multi-instrumentalists began exploring their deep love for electronic music and hip hop through sporadic bedroom jams and writing sessions.
After sharing the recordin...gs developed during this period with friends and contacts in their hometown, Onetalk was selected to open the 2011 Canberra leg of the Flying Lotus/Gaslamp Killer/Hudson Mohawk tour.
In April, the two released the online single ‘Mr. Hotness’ from their upcoming debut EP ‘Dreamsharers’. The track quickly spread around the internet, receiving glowing reviews internationally and gaining widespread airplay on Melbourne’s Triple R and Sydney’s FBi radio stations.
Since emerging from the bedroom, Onetalk have had the privilege of sharing their soulful, groove-heavy sound alongside such acts as Flying Lotus, Gaslamp Killer,Ras G, Machinedrum, Jaques Greene, Tokimonsta, Bok Bok, Prize, Electric Sea Spider, BK2M and many more. Recently, the two have been chosen to play the Sydney leg on the 2011 Australian tour for Brainfeeder’s Samiyam, along with native talents El Gusto (Hermitude) and Roleo.
With a sound equally as rich in bottom-heavy, slamming boom bap as it is in beautiful synth melodies and lush sampling, Onetalk’s dynamic live show brings a positive, energetic vibe to audiences keen to get down and enjoy forward thinking, future music.
