“War Cry” is the epic statement of intent of a debut single from High Wycombe’s AS ELEPHANTS ARE and the first release on the nascent London based ONCE UPON A TIME SINGLES CLUB.
"War Cry" has already received some significant airplay in the UK including a Playlist on XFM and Amazing Radio where is currently sits in the Top10 of their chart, on Q Radio and with plays from the ever influential Huw Stephens at BBC Radio 1 and Gary Crowley at BBC London.
AS ELEPHANTS ARE were formed in 2011 after Ben (vocals/guitar) and Harry (bass) had to collaborate on the writing and recording of music for their college music course. Realising that there was no one else like-minded on the course they recruited an old school friend each in Joe (guitar) and Rob (drums) to complete the recording line up. All four had been music obsessives from a young age but this was the first time they had ever played music with other people who felt the same way. Things gelled immediately…
The band have been bunkered down in their local Studio 91 on the old Greenham Common Airbase near Newbury recording tracks for their debut album and “War Cry” was one of the first tracks to come out of these sessions.
