Oktavio, a long term resident of El Paso, TX, has been djing since 2001. Within his first year he became a part of one of the biggest contributors in electronic dance music, Pastilla Digital, in Juarez, Mexico. Pastilla Digital started the world renowned uber club The Hardpop. Oktavio’s skillful warm-up sets earned him a long run of opening up slots for some of the biggest djs on the planet, such as Phil K, Steve Porter, MANDY, Lee Burridge, Infusion, Sandra Collins, John Digweed, Sasha, Dj Hyper and other big names. He also held residencies for “Made in Juarez” and “Britpop” evenings. Djing at these two opposite nights showcased his knowledge and ability to play different styles of music, going from EDM to British and Indie Rock.

In 2008, Oktavio decided to dive into the world of production. In 2010 Oktavio joined El Paso’s locally owned label, Dustcity Music artist roster. His productions provide deep, techy and funky house vibes to the Dustcity Music catalog. So far his releases have been quoted to contain “infectious beats” (Dj Dirrty Harri-Sonic Music, /2 Tone Music) and “tight beats and productions” (Adrian Santos, Global1fm.com). Oktavio’s first release “Summer Ride” was played by Micro Many on Traxx.fm. Some of his remixes have also held number one spots amongst the Dustcity releases.

Now in 2011 he has begun to balance the act of production and recording dj mixes for his Sound Unit Episodes available on his personal Blog inviting locals to submit and share their mixes as well. One of his promos mixes landed him a post on SanDiegoHouseMusic.com, which was very exciting being that San Diego is Oktavio’s birthplace! Also within this year he has been asked to join and become a resident for Zombie Mode Events. This journey will allow him to share his experience and musical knowledge with the city of Austin and expose him to a new scene.
