    Quiet as kept, Phony PPLare some of the realest folks out here, which just goes to show you what's in a name. The 9-man collective/crew of rappers, musicians, singers, producers and DJs have been making their presence felt for some time with a unique blend of jazz, soul, hip-hop and dance--a sound they themselves describe as "grown on equal parts Jay-Z, John Coltrane and Jamiroquai"--as evidence on their debut album Phonyland. But things are truly hotting up with their next joint the (definitely very special) Nothing Special EP, slated to drop 1 week from today. Okayplayer is extremely proud to host the premiere of the first single from the project, titled "Told You So."
