Dom Almond remixes this on a ravey breaks tip and the Beatmonkeys take it down a notch or two with grizzly, grimy beats and bass. Great release, all round

Following a barnstorming debut year that included his widely acclaimed Charge EP, 24-year-old London-based producer Tom Young, aka RuN RiOT, kicks off 2010 with a bang. Take My Hand is deep and funky synth driven prog breaks with trance-inspired breakdowns and a hypnotising female vocal. A real builder, this one's guaranteed to have them climbing the walls by the last breakdown. Elsewhere, Dom Almond adds his signature style with a dark-tinged ravey breaks remix, while Beat Monkeys slow the pace down for a glitchy, grimy workout, and RuN provides his own rerub that harks back to the days when rave meant funky too. A top quality release that covers all the bases - 8/10
