Jason Apple, aka Ground_Control, has been making music for well over a decade. After a brief and ill-advised stint making indie rock, he fell in love with breakbeats and electronic dance music. A quick turn on a college roommate’s turntables and he decided to become a dj. The urge to make his own tunes quickly followed, fuelled by a love of heavy beats, bleeps, and noises that go wobble.
Recently relocated to San Francisco from Los Angeles, Ground_Control’s eclectic sets of dirty house, glitched-up breaks, electro and dubstep have him playing up and down the west coast of the US, while his residencies at LA’s Broke on Sundays and SF's TRBL keeps his hometowns satisfied.
Ground_Control’s debut record, “Be Nice,” was released on Future Funk Squad’s En:vision label. His remix of SIMO and Mancub's "Punks of Funk" is out now on Sleevin Records.
