Brett Fonfa was born in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1991. Like most children he began to play piano at an early age, but soon dropped it for sports. In middle school he picked up bass and guitar and began listening extensively to any music he could get his hands on: all kinds of classic rock and jazz as well as indie and some electronica. In high school Brett attended Idyllwild Arts Academy (arts boarding school) for creative writing and it was here that he first began to become interested in DJing and music production. Junior year of high school (2007) he bought his first turntables and mixer and since then it has been a steady progression to obsession.

It was only once he travelled to Europe however and experienced the clubs in Barcelona and London that Brett knew minimal and techno were the genres that moved him the most. Something about the tiniest change in percussion or the thumping bass struck him, and his DJ sets (soon music production) would never be the same. ODS was born. For the past 3 years, since moving to New York for college and subsequently San Diego, Brett has been honing his skills as a music producer on programs such as Ableton and Reason.
