About
nsu is Ivan Vuković, (originally Auckland-based, now in Novi Sad, Serbia) producer and live act. Ivan's first foray into writing music was around the turn of the millenium; Inspired by the giants of the live arena, such as Orbital and The Prodigy, amongst others, he set out to write electronic music he could perform live.
Most of the early work largely remained out of sight until late 2008, when he finally took first steps into playing live gigs, and started releasing his own music independently through his small imprint, newclearmusic.com. As a producer and artist, his approach has been to methodically pull elements out of genres like breaks, dubstep, ambient, acid house and prog, and mould them into his own concepts, resulting in a sound that can only be described in broad terms as electronic music. Yet his tastes and influences go far, far beyond the 'bleeps', 'wobbles' and 'oonsts' of dance...
With two singles, an EP and a music video (for "Panic Bells") already released, a handful of remixes (always) in the works, and a stack of live gigs around NZ under his belt, nsu is now focused on exploring sonic territories new to himself, as well as developing the mechanics of his live show even further. Watch out...

Nice :) As always... ;)

I have a good feeling about where this is heading...
@NUMAphlex: Thanks man - really glad you dig it!
Deeeeeep
Oh yes
Nice work!
This is a fantastic mix. Well done Micah!
@Soulscience: Seconded. Haven't been this excited about a tune in months
@willmarshall: Pretty much as I explained in the other comment - there was a mellow follow through on the guitar part, and whenever I listened to it, I head a garagey bass thing. I managed to work out the notes myself. At the time of writing, I've made small changes to this mix - pulled out the snare, and changed the kick - much nicer.
I guess my comments will be more valuable once I know I bit more about the background here.
- What did you use to put this together and how did you record yourself?
- How did you sequence the drums?
- Is the bass lacking in presence, or is there simply no bass? I can't tell.
Also, for context, I'm guessing these are just instrumental demos that you're keen to develop further? That's really a stab in the dark, as there doesn't appear to be a definitive structure here, but there are some well thought out progressions and changes, and overall ideas that have potential.... and you obviously don't need to be told that you know how to play guitar :)
In terms of this being your first effort at putting something together - fantastic - my first efforts were total rubbish.
@On Web Culture: seconded. I didn't hear this coming...
That's some juicy filtered-disco-tech
Dude - this kind of stuff is right up my alley - some old school vibes flowing in there...!

@SharkweekNZ: Farty noises? I was convinced this bassline was actually the sound of Charlie Brown's teacher talking... :)
