A short piece I wrote as a composition project for Music Theory. Our task was to write in the style of Bartok's Mikrokosmos, utilizing symmetry and octatonic/whole-tone scales. I chose to name this piece Reverie for two reasons: first because of the dream-like nature of the whole-tone scale, and second because it is partially inspired by one of my favorite Debussy pieces of the same title. I don't particularly like composing in this style but I'm nonetheless pleased with how this turned out.
