About

Berlin based and notoriously hip shaking Dj, Guitarist, Composer, Producer and Performer.

Not long after his first DJing engagement in 1997, Noema in 1999 also started organizing events himself. Initially favouring a very free kind of freestyle, his musical predilections permanently changed following his first nights spent at the Robert Johnson Club in Offenbach, which he would visit weekly in its early days. Apart from some of the world’s best house DJs, whom he was able to experience there, the greatest influence on Noema’s style was provided by the sets of resident DJ Ata with their classic house sound. Ever since then, Noema's primary focus has been on mixing House, Detroit Techno and Disco in a traditional American manner.
At his own events such as the “Expansion” gigs and “Menschen am Sonntag/People on a Sunday”, run in cooperation with DJ Rndm (Pigon - Dial Rec.), he has performed alongside live acts such as Jamie Lidell, Mocky and Kathy Diamond, as well as playing back to back with DJs including Àme, A Guy called Gerald, Kaos, Carsten Jost, Prosumer, Daniel Wang and Lexx. In addition, David has also been spinning in Berlin locations such as Kinzo (residency), Watergate, Deep, Rio, Tape (residency), Scala, Villa and in further clubs in Germany. In this respect, he is moreover a regular guest in various Zurich venues. Currently he plays as a resident about every 3 Weeks at the club wilde Renate (Berlin). Since Dec 2011, he also runs the monthly event series "The Magic Movement" in collaboration with Deemeetree at the infamous Soju-Bar (Berlin).

Noema's DJ sets are known for their sexy, deep and hypnotic flavour ranging from disco and pop to house and techno, combined in a highly energetic mix.
He creates the possibilitys, explores the oportunities and always looks for the big emotions on the dancefloor.
For him there are no boundaries between the different styles of Dance Music, it just got to be funky !

In addition to his djing Noema has worked as a studio guitarist for Daniel Wang, Apparat, Crowdpleaser and Dutch Rhythm Combo, as well as collaborating on a number of songs with Roberta Sweed (Mahagoni Music – Detroit) and co-composed 2 Songs for Basement Jaxx`s Album "Zephyr" (XL-Recordings)
He is furthermore a live band member of „Wahoo“, a project run by DJ Dixon (Innervisions) and Georg Levin, jointly with whom Noema recently also recorded Georgs new Solo Album (out on BBE Records).

Since 2010 he also composes, plays and acts in several theaterproductions like "Wenn es Nacht wird" by Falk Richter, directed by Christian Weise.

    *david

I like the Song iteself and vocals very much but i would change the harmonic rhythm a little: When in the first break the guitar drops in, the harmony changes in half notes which gives together with the syncopated melody a funky and forthgoing flow. But when the Bassdrum drops in again the flow changes and stops a little cause the melody has no syncops anymore and the guitar stays on one chord. So maybe one could turn that around: stay first on one chord with only 4th notes in the melody, than increasing the harmonic rhythm and go to the syncops in the melody. I think that would give a much more dramatic build up...blah blah...but that's only my opinion. But the Song really has potential anyway
