About
Combine spoken word, floetry, and rap and what do you have? NIQUE LADYLYKE an artist in the truest sense of the word. Nique creates music that cannot be defined by a single genre and with influences ranging from Miguel and Jill Scott to Reba McEntire and Pearl Jam it’s easy to see why. Nique skillfully and creatively mixes different sounds and different flows into a truly unique sonic soundscape the likes of which you’ve never heard before.
Nique brings the complete package to the table. The sound, the look, the lyricism, and most of all the passion and heart for her craft. It’s more than simple entertainment, her music is art. Speaking on her goals in music: “I would love to see all my work after all these years find its way to many ears and help change how we listen to music today. I would love to see our youth find a deeper and richer meaning within music.”
Nique’s own musical journey started at the tender age of eight. Growing up in Southern California and parts of Arizona she grew up in a very artistic family with painters, musicians, and dancers. She did run into ruff times emotionally growing up however but that is when an “amazing teacher taught me how words can describe my feelings more effectively than actions.” She discovered poetry and that seminal moment set her on the path she follows to this day.
She continues to hone her craft demonstrating the power of words. Commenting on her best quality; “I would say my ability to transform a word into a thought and generate a feeling.” The journey carries on as Nique continues to work and is in the studio recording two albums, performing throughout Los Angeles, building her quickly expanding fanbase and networking within the industry. Despite doing so many things she remains grounded, motivated and focused on her goals. Her son first and foremost, her family, and music period influence her and one quote in particular sums up her outlook on herself and her music perfectly. “One of my favorite quotes I heard from Will Smith was…’It is a necessity for me to make a difference. I want the world to be better because I was here!’ I live by that, and that is enough for me.” NIQUE LADYLYKE is well on her way to achieving just that.
