The Qemists
Your Revolution (Album Version)
After the storming success of their debut album ‘Join The Q’ last year The Qemists are back with another gargantuan slice of full-throttled bass-heavy dance music that, along with a monster remix from Reso, looks set to cause dance floor frenzies all over the world. Taken as the first single from their follow-up LP due later in 2010, it serves as the perfect taster of what’s to come.
‘Your Revolution’ intros in a major way with glorious sweeping strings before guitar power-chords smack out of the speakers along with precise kicks and loaded bass guitar giving a thoroughly live feeling to this one augmented with the vocals of Matt Rose; The Qemists are after all a band. Then in drops a snarling mid-range synth riff over building percussion and after a rather large kick-snare roll we’re away on a romper-stomper ride of big beats and bone-crunching b-lines that’ll have you moshing in no time! One for the festival-goers and clubbing kids alike.
It’s then left up to Reso to turn in the remix and what a remix it is! Opening with the lone ‘keep your revolution’ vocal over some skipping breaks and the familiar riff it isn’t long before it drops into an absolutely heinous half-time roll-out complete with warning sirens and smashing FX. The breakdown follows and then a switch into a full blown D&B assault on the senses that fans of Noisia and the like will lap up with its sickening bass and edits. After yet another switch into an equally devastating dubstep section it’s all over – job very well done!
“We have locked ourselves away in our new studio to make our second album! We are putting the finishing touches to it now and think our fans will NOT be disappointed! We have thrown ourselves into making this album, working with some of our favourite vocalists and bands whose names will be revealed very soon..... Its a step forward from the first album in every way!” - Leon Harris of The Qemists
