Great sound choices, like the vocal. Not really feeling the kick, it sounds too tom-y...

      2. NImajNeB on September 27, 2009 00:54

Yea thats what matt was saying too, it needs a snap to it but i like the deep tom sound

      3. v904 on September 27, 2009 11:34

Keep the tom in there, but layer it with a second kick. Once you find a sample you like, put the note length midi effect on it and keep the length short (ie less than 60ms). Bathtub EQ the sound, compress JUST A LITTLE, and go from there. Be careful not to pump the sub freqs too much, and remember the kick snap is at approx 3-5khz.

Need to cut the vocal here for more dramatic build, introduce it just before the drop but break it up a little, I like it though.

Love the piano stab, and the vibe of the track. Bass needs some distortion, try saturator or dynamic tube.

hahah fucking excellent buildup! Nice work dude

      2. NImajNeB on September 27, 2009 01:03

i like the buildup but i think i went a bit overboard

      3. v904 on September 27, 2009 11:35

Na its perfect. Maybe a filtered noise pad or something in the background to help the build, but the length/what ou got is perfect

I thin you coul do more with that transistion, maybe allow the delay to fade itself out?

      2. NImajNeB on April 24, 2009 10:49

@yllig77: yea i know what you mean, was trying to but it wasnt working 4 me, i need some more help with effects

This track would go really well with some pads... just like a reverbed saw synth slowly getting louder over 16 bars

      2. NImajNeB on April 21, 2009 14:44

@v904: was thinking along the same lines, let me see what i can find!

Best idea I can give is: put a delay on a send, 100% wet. 2 quarter-beats... then you automate the instruments sends and the feedback during breakdowns to let it grow!

      2. NImajNeB on April 21, 2009 14:45

@v904: um...yea....im sorry but i dont speak German... I think your gonna have to give me a demo cus i got no idea what your talkin about, but it sounds really cool :)

Nice dude, less is more working for this one. Good balance in the sounds. I think the kick could do with a little shaping, it's got that cardboard box hard house sound, and i'll buy it! $1.49 right?

      2. NImajNeB on April 21, 2009 14:44

        @yllig77: US$!!

To make a kick punchier its can be a balance between envelope on the sampler and compression. It also helps to clean up frequencies with EQ before compression. It sounds like you need to lower the env decay and sustain, dip the freqs a bit round 200-400, and then hard compress (A - 100ish, R - 30ish, Ratio 4-6:1, Thresh pretty low). We'l do more on it when you GET YOUR FAT ASS OVER HERE! You heard me... walk it off tubby

      2. v904 on April 01, 2009 11:15

Might also want to lower the distortion a bit if you can

I like the low freq sound underneath. I see you've made use of the effects a bit more since your last track.

Love the lead at this point. You might be able to clean it up a bit by EQing out a bit of the 3-6khz range

How are we gonna mix out of that? Nah, just shitting ya. Good to see you use a few more bit's on the program, now its just time to sort out out the EQ side, i'm in the same boat!

Bassline needs some tweaking, hard to hear what your trying to do.

      2. v904 on March 18, 2009 11:24

Agreed. Try the saturator, waveshaper setting... can help with smoothing out subs n giving some hi end tone

I love the lead up to the drop. Think that would be a great time for a deep breakdown, a bit longer than your actual one.
