maybe some craziness in this second part ..Good track nevertheless.. sorry ,i mean.. super track
- nilsandgren on September 20, 2009 16:17
@The Observer: Yeah, I agree. I've tried reworking this part several times, but I'm not completely satisfied... I think the last part needs an additional element (instrument) but I've not been able to figure out what it should be...
- The Observer on September 20, 2009 16:26
@nilsandgren: I am sure you will figure it out .The explosion hit is also kinda distractive in the sec part where the arrangement gets fuller .Maybe me ?
- nilsandgren on September 20, 2009 19:53
@The Observer: When you say "explosion hit" are you referring to the reverbed brass-ish sound (every four bars) or the single noise blast?
- The Observer on September 21, 2009 07:31
@nilsandgren: Yeah probably that ;-)
- The Observer on September 21, 2009 07:40
@The Observer: No sorry the single noise blast it must be

I think the vocals are a bit low here.
- nilsandgren on August 16, 2009 14:43
The vocals are a bit clearer if you listen to the WAV (compared to the SC player). I've also kept the vocals down a bit since they contain traces of the original track, which are distracting.

very smooooth track...as i am listening to it ,i constantly have the feeling that the next second it's gonna blow up with an eastern melody and percussion...just an opinion, make more use of the percussion especially when the bass drum plays along with the main synth...

Your drum synth pat doesnt vary much. I would say since the track as it is isnt purely driven by a synth changes a lot then the drums need to or otherwise make the synth more involved just my 2 cents
- nilsandgren on June 15, 2009 14:08
@AdrianLione: OK, thanks for the input!
- nilsandgren on June 15, 2009 14:18
@AdrianLione: I think adding some twists to the bass and some variations to the main synth can be something that I can manage. I'm very much into creating a certain sound, when it comes to the editing I become a bit lazy I'm afraid...

Love everything about the track it is sort of 'elegant but dirty'. Only criticism is the 'lead/melody': it feels somehow too 'robotic' or 'raw'. But maybe that is what makes it 'anthem-like' for others dunno... Great track though and refreshingly different.
- nilsandgren on June 18, 2009 22:11
@SCHMUCKFENSTER: Thanks for the great feedback, Schmuckfenster! I agree about the lead beeing a bit monotonous. Will try to add some variations to it when I have the time... Thanks again!

beautiful pads here too, may I ask what you used for them? <curious>
- nilsandgren on July 29, 2009 21:18
@Andrew Cox: I wish I could reply and say I've got some cool hardware, but it's actually the EXS24 synth/sampler in Logic. I've tweaked the Jupi Chords preset, sent it through a Guitar Amp simulator, and then added the cutoff mudulation and a reverb.

very nice track, nice atmosphere. However i think that the synth should be a little "lower" cause it is too loud.I think it should be more a part of the whole "backround" and just let the main melody play the game...just an opinion!
- nilsandgren on May 29, 2009 08:09
@Aris: OK, I lowered the main synth by 3 dB, and raised the plinky-plinky sound by 1 dB. Better or worse?
-
@nilsandgren: yes of course, far better.now all of them mix up eachother better,it's smoother than before.well done...
-
@nilsandgren: far better.although you should,in my opinion, put some more reverbaration and delay in the synth sound, and some more movement(panning)
