Niklāvz comes from a city called Liepāja, which is often referred to as "the rock city" and is known for being the most musical city in Latvia; this being the case, Niklāvz has been connected to music since his early childhood. In 2006 he met Dj Krii Kruu, who explained to him the role of beats and instrumental accompaniment in relation to hip-hop music.

Although Niklāvz has earned his recognition quite recenly, he now is one of the most well-reputed beatmakers in Latvia. He has participated and won beat-battles, produced and remixed many significant rap songs and released various instrumental releases. Currently broadens his musical horizons by performing live along with other Dirty Deal Audio members and more than often boasts the most responsive reaction from the audience.

Also known as "Liepājas bass" (the bass of Liepāja), his handwriting is quite unmistakable.
