2013 marks the 15th anniversary for Nicko Izzo’s musical career and to celebrate; a tour is scheduled to clubs in Canada, Columbia, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Asia. Summer 2013 will also be his 8th anniversary as a resident at La Terrrazza.

“I try to bring the best of every style together,” explains Nicko, “and tell a story with many different sounds. It’s all about variety, and bringing everything together in harmony. I am happy when people dance and have fun, but I also want them to take home a special memory of the night.”

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Nicko Izzo was born with music surging through his veins. Growing up, Nicko spent every weekend at Buenos Aires’ widely respected club; Pacha. By the age of 18, with the encouragement of his friends and his passion for music, Nicko started playing at house parties and small underground clubs.

He soon moved his passion and talent to Barcelona, Spain, where he secured residencies at renowned clubs such as Café del Mar in Barcelona, Club Lla in Granada and Tab.00 in Seville. The defining moment that brought his career to new heights was in the summer of 2005 when we landed a residency at Barcelona’s famous summer venue; La Terrrazza. DJ Magazine praised La Terrazza as the best open-air club in the world. By 2006 Nicko was involved in the artistic direction and promotion of the venue, and a successful partnership was formed with Albert Tió, the clubs founder.

Other international highlights include a trip to the USA in 2006 taking in New York and Miami, and a tour of Asia in 2007 culminating in a headline set at an open-air festival in Kazakhstan. Back in Buenos Aires, Nicko also played at the Creamfields after party in 2007.

In 2007 Nicko and Albert formed their own DJ booking agency, Closure Artists. Based in Buenos Aires and Barcelona, and focusing on the South American market, the Closure roster includes Danny Howells, Darren Emerson, D.Ramirez, Paul Woolford, Arno Cost, Smokin Jo and many more of the most respected names in dance music.

In the past two years, Nicko has also been busy producing, organizing and managing international top events for the magic Hotel Resort MECancun.

Despite his busy schedule of renowned residencies, and his successful booking agency; Closure Artists, Nicko still finds time for studio work. The most recent has been collaboration with Tim Davison, they remixed Sound 5 and ‘The Hacienda Must Be Re built’ which Tom Novy included on his recent Global Underground Album.
His tracks and remixes have been supported by some of the top DJ’s in the world including, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Danny Howells to name but a few.
