About
Neolithic (Neil Walker) moved to Edinburgh in the year 2000 and it didn’t take him long to meet a group of likeminded dj’s wanting to bring something new to the Capital City. With this came a new collective – the Drop Out DJ’s and a popular fortnightly residency at the city’s Livingroom. This was a stepping stone that led onto playing many of the clubs across the city as well as outdoor parties and radioshow’s.
2003 brought a new residency at Access, a night heavily influenced by the EU techno and electro scene. This shown through in the selection of guests that played at the night and had Neolithic warming up for the likes of Agoria, Oxia and the Hacker to name but a few. But Access was a club with wide spread musical tastes which led to guests such as Kevin Saunderson, Luke Vibert and The Pyschonauts gracing the decks.
In the following years Neil has also held down residencies at So Be It in London’s Hoxton Square and his current longtime residency at Edinburgh’s Split, playing in both the main techno room and speakeasy lounge.
Most recently Neolithic is co-host and resident of The Gulshick 32 radioshow broadcast fortnightly Fridays 8 -10 GMT on Brap.fm.
Neolithic’s tastes are firmly rooted in all forms of house and techno, drawing inspiration from artists such as Pantha Du Prince, Extrawelt, Loco Dice and Gaiser. Expect to hear driven minimal tech grooves with deep and uplifting melodies.
