5 Plays uh... aiffRoughest of rough mixes, plus, it's missing a key vocal part, but what the hell, I haven't posted anything here for a while. Be forewarned - it's pretty goofy!Surge ruff 1.10 Uploaded by ndrobinson Start following Send a message on January 11, 2009 01:24

K Andy. It's been a month. Finish? Something new? :P
- ndrobinson on February 17, 2009 18:10
@starkaudio: Ha! It takes me a long time to finish anything, what with life and everything "interfering," and because every track I do involves a learning curve of some sort (usually having to do with software). But I will have some finished things soon - I've got a guy coming over tomorrow to add fiddles and mandolin and maybe bass on some stuff. As I mix those, I'll post 'em. Thanks for the prod!

String scrape as rhythm instrument?
- ndrobinson on February 17, 2009 18:02
@starkaudio: Yup. Just one of those things - I happened to have the guitar in my hand and went, "Hmmm?"

Great blend. Is that flute and slide guitar I hear?
- ndrobinson on February 17, 2009 18:03
@starkaudio: Yeah. I'd just gotten the guitar, and I felt like I HAD to use on something right away. The track was almost finished, but I found a way to work it in. ;)

ehehehe. id like to see that film
- ndrobinson on November 20, 2008 06:56
@Abreaktor: Ha! Not sure I recommend the film, but the soundtrack wasn't bad! ;) He only used a little bit of this song, in a scene where two guys in love with the same girl got really drunk together...

Something goofy I recorded for a friend's film, many years ago. Cheesy toy synthesizers can be very expressive!Conversations Uploaded by ndrobinson Start following Send a message on October 26, 2008 02:44

good, had to turn volume down. This second coming kalimba has some frequences to high.

notes are little confused here for me
- ndrobinson on October 23, 2008 21:19
@gottolovehouse: not sure what you mean. There is a lot going on there, though...
- gottolovehouse on October 23, 2008 21:23
@ndrobinson: some notes are out of rythm.
- ndrobinson on October 23, 2008 23:50
@gottolovehouse: hmm - a matter of interpretation, i think, but then, i know my interpretation can be pretty loose at times! I can't imagine I'll hear something that will really disturb me, but I'll try to listen for what you mean with an open mind...

recorded in GarageBand. Mike Keneally on guitar, Tripp Sprague on sax, Jamie White on bass, me on everything else.
Reminds me (from a timbre perspective) of old Mike Oldfield. Pleasing!
@starkaudio: Interesting comment. I'm not that familiar with his stuff, other than Tubular bells, but I always thought he was an interesting musician. I had an album by his wife that I liked, too.
