  I was working on a new idea for solo guitar when I decided to plug in my fretless bass and have a go - and lo and behold it sounded fantastic. I turned the main theme of this idea into a piece of outro music for a radio project I have due in a few weeks, complete with a little bass lead line.

  Rough first mix of my first recorded vocal tune, featuring entirely too much guitar percussion. Note that this is performed live approximately as it sounds here - I play the guitar part and sing it simultaneously, with a looper used for a jam section at the bridge.

  Screwing around with the multitrack capabilities of my new recording rig. Seagull acoustic guitar was recorded with two CAD e70 mics; the Fender Jazz fretless and Roland Fantom X6 went direct into the Firebox. The latter two were improvised, so the takes are just sort of hinting at what the fin...
