Ok, let's make some sense here.
I think that leaving comments to people serves for the purpose of helping them in gettin' better in what they do, which is what we all aim at. I can do it by criticizing the songs, but i realize that might sting... so what i do, unless requested, is encourage people that make music i apreciate with positive comments and by favouriting tracks i will want to listen to again in the future, and avoid leaving negative comments, except for tracks that are spammed mindlessly in groups i moderate.
I have been listening to a lot of music so i think i have high standards(although it might not seem so to who listens to the music i make, i guess), but take my comments for what they are: just an opinion. Nothing is objective: we don't see wavelengths; instead, we interpretate them and therefore we see colours. And my opinion is just an interpretation of what i hear, so don't feel offended if i see things differently from you.
Oh, i currently have no internets, if not for 15 minutes sessions, so i won't be leaving much comments.

@Alfadeo: Want to hear a better one? Drop by the guy that inspired this bass: kirkdegiorgio (which obviously doesn't mean i tried to make it sound alike). I reckon that the result is not anywhere near his, but i am satisfied anyway. Thanks for dropping by btw, have a good time.

@narcofunk: also enjoying your exchange of opinion with various hot-headed individuals on here. fundamentally agree with what you're saying. guess the solution is moderated groups.

      4. narcofunk on November 04, 2009 19:14

@Der Derian: @der Derian: Thank you for your support Derian. The point is pretty simple: if everybody starts sending their tracks everywhere, people will stop listening to music in groups. I don't want that to happen, i want groups to be a place to promote that particular kind of music where listeners can just come and have the good time they planned on having, without having to deal with dozens of electro/tech house tracks(i don't have anything against it, but it is everywhere, you don't need to put it in ambient groups to get positive attention). Have a good time mate.

        @BONECOLD: In what sense?

      2. narcofunk on November 04, 2009 12:13

what would you make with drums, synths and bass? duh.

      3. narcofunk on November 04, 2009 15:13

@BONECOLD: I was trying to understand what you were saying, you weren't clear at all(i'd dare anyone to get what you meant by "i don't understand what you've tryed to make") and preferred attacking my point of view somewhere else without even understanding what it was about. By the way, i haven't been "slating" good music, instead i have been discouraging spamming them to where they do not belong(a dancefloor track has nothing to do with a group that is about ambient and experimental music). I am not the only one who's being pissed off at mindless spam on soundcloud groups, but i guess that someone that's following 2000 people and left 70 comments will hardly get my point. By the way, i do not use sampled loops, fyi. And "silly game for halloween" meant that this track has been made for a halloween event on another forum. Now, if you don't mind, i am interested about your point of view, as music is my first passions as much as it is for you and would like to know why mine is rubbish, so i can hopefully improve. That if your wasn't a pointless attack that is. Cheers.

      4. narcofunk on November 04, 2009 18:42

@BONECOLD: Duh, how is "just go back to your moderating" not a pointless attack? What about "artist that is pushing music in an incredible direction! unlike yourself"? And again, what about "what i hear you create is rubbish"? And you feel offended by a "duh". Anyway, you still are making no point: you are saying that what i make sucks and i asked you why. I accept your opinion, but unless you actually make sense, it is useless to me, as in i can't make anything of it. What "next comment"? "hmmmmmm...."? Do you really communicate like this with people and expect they have an idea what you're talking about?

A silly game for halloween, i'll remove the track in a week or so i think. The voice actually says "I don't--I don't see what's wrong with me", but i'm not sure it's understandable. Kudos to who guesses what famous classic literature character this song is supposed to be about.

Anybody remembers Embargo, the techno act from the end of the 90s(if i remember correctly)? I was a teen and loved one of their tracks. Curiously, it came back to mind for no reason recently, so i thought i'd tribute them with a track that has nothing to do with their music.

John Cage explains why this song doesn't have any sense. And, more importantly, why it DOESN'T HAVE TO have any. Anyway, one thing impressed me about this: putting the un-edited speech on the sequencer, how the speech itself was "musical", following the period of the song(by bars). As the 4 bars...

I think I agree with phonomat, I want the beat to have a more solid groove...cause it sounds like all these sweet sounds would run away with the dancefloor if they had it!

@Lunchtray: Thank you LT. I'll be working on it.

You have a good knack for panning, stereo width and full use of the audio spectrum. Sounds very good. nice programming ^_^

      2. narcofunk on May 15, 2009 22:45

@bagelboy: The attention for panning and stuff came after Starkaudio's critics on my earlier tracks, that's why Soundcloud is awesome ;)

@narcofunk: ha yes starkaudio has some good audio advice. i think on his profile i clicked through to a post he has on his website about 'the volume wars' which was really interesting and i learned some stuff.. it's why he masters his tracks on the quiet side.. to maintain a wider dynamic range so we listeners can turn it up. (okay at least that's what *i* took from it-- hope i got it right cuz it makes sense..) anyhow back to this track... CRAZY sounds here, mr. Litoris :P

Good stuff! Great drop, maybe a more solid beat to really hit the message home...

I ask myself if the Hihats could probably be a bit more in the front. And the snare with a bit tougher sounding? Excellent drumming!

      2. narcofunk on May 12, 2009 12:20

@phonomat: Funny, i made the mix down twice, each time because the hihats were too high in my opinion so i had to bring 'em down. But i already had noticed about the snare, i'll do something.

It's getting awfully hot here, i couldn't get asleep. Got up from the bed and time-travelled to the 90ies, working on this, and here's the result.
