In memory of composer and performer Richard Lainhart, who passed away on December 30, 2011. He was only five years older than me. His work and example has been, and will remain, a source of inspiration and encouragement. For more information about Richard and his music, see http://www.otownmedia.com/he/he.html
This is nearly the same setup I used on Abyss, with the addition of a Moogefooger ring modulator in the drone signal path. As in that track, the underlying drone was provided by a self-oscillating distortion pedal whose output passed through several other boxes. Over that I played a feedback-looped Deluxe Memory Man (patched through mixer's effects loop). Recorded in a live take, edited only to trim silences from the beginning and ending. All dynamics were part of the performance.
Ice Moon is one of the names of the full moon that officially begins tomorrow.

Just now I checked the recent info about Lainhart to find that he died a month ago... A big loss for Electronic music. This beautiful piece honours him appropriately. I have seldom heard drone music sound so sentimental.

Dave like the 'orange squeezer' voice a lot through here.

@Tom DePlonty: These are both excellent examples of his work, and they are both favorites of mine.

I knew some of Richard's work (Ten Thousand Shades of Blue) and followed his posts on G+. A while back I ran into a Vimeo post of a great performance of his, too, of Messiaen's "Oraison" on his Buchla/Continuum setup. Incredibly beautiful. It's so sad he's gone.
