About

A decade of Myagi - a quick summary.

The easiest description of the Myagi sound is probably James Brown mixed with New Order and a case of cheap vodka. But you may know that already - if you've gone to club events over the last 10 years, chances are you've heard a Myagi track or two.

Over the course of a 10 year career, Myagi has carved out a role as one of Canada's major contributions to electronic music. Critically acclaimed releases abound - his debut artist album got a 9/10 from much lauded Dj Mag - and his remixes are far too numerous to list, though mixes for The Crystal Method, Soul of Man, Malente and Ursula 1000 are worth noting.

Myagi hits every major Canadian city at least once or twice a year, and spreads his gospel of dancefloor funk, house, breaks and tech via regular sojourns to places like Australia, the UK, Korea, Thailand, China and more, playing some of the more esteemed festivals of the world, including The Burning Man festival at Black Rock City, Nevada.

His original music shows up in video games, tv ads, movie trailers and cell phone apps, and on the sound design front he designs synth patches, creates expansion packs and is commissioned to create audio presets for various pieces of software.
