Mimicking the moves of Michael Jackson, singing the melodic tunes of Stevie Wonder, and yelling at the top of her lungs in hopes of hitting the impeccable register of Mariah Carey is what a young Lamayah would do. "I've been singing since I was four years old and it has always been a dream of mines. I have many talents, but singing has always been my dream and is my whole heart!" she say's as she gropes her Yamaha guitar.

Born in Brookyln, New York to a native New Yorker mother and a father from Georgetown, Guyana, Lamayah say's music is in her genes. "My dad is a very talented and accomplished singer and musician. He used to be so big in Guyana. He played in this band where he sang and played Sax. But he also plays the guitar, piano, and flute. He passed it on to me I guess. I am so thankful." She plays the guitar, Flute, Violin, Harmonica, and a little piano. Though she has never been formally trained vocally or musically, she still possess the skill and magic of one who is.

"Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and Mariah Carey are my biggest inspirations and I just want to inspire others like they have inspired me. I just want to put hope and love in the hearts of everyone who hears my music, my words, and my voice. That's all. Soul..soul is where it all comes from. That's what I look for.. that's what I go to..truth."

She has the ability and potential to be the next big thing. Her drive and motivation is so strong and she shows no signs of slowing down. This is truly what she wants. "I feel this is my purpose in life. Music. Singing. It's what makes me feel alive. This is my calling, my dream, my fate. I'm here for you."
