Americana/Roots American/roots music
Americana artist JJ Schultz released his fourth studio album, “Carolina”, on August 11th. If “Alchemy”, one of the songs from the album, is any indication of how successful the new album will be, Schultz should be happy. With whiskey soaked lyrics, sparse guitars, and a heavenly Hammond B3, Schultz’s Western Roots music weaves a lush, intricate mood. Schultz sings with a great deal of passion on the very poignant song, which is a wistful story about a man longing for family. With lyrics that tell of a desire for “a house built by hand/on our own piece of land/for you and for me/and our family band,” the track hits home deeply and solidly, evoking both emotions and hopefully a sense of gratitude for blessings from listeners. Lyrically and musically strong, music lovers who enjoy message music will find something to love.
