MUNK is Italo – German DJ and producer MATHIAS MODICA. Mathias runs Germany’s leading indie electronica, freakhouse and avant-pop label GOMMA with his partner Jonas Imbery. Gomma releases the music of WHOMADEWHO, GLIMMERS, The PHENOMENAL HANDCLAP BAND and MOULLINEX.
The new Munk album "The Bird and the Beat" will be out in March 2011. The singles VIOLENT LOVE and LA MUSICA are out now, including remixes by AZARI & III, AUDIOJACK, THE TWELVES. Full support by Mark Ronson, Annie Mac, Erol Alkan, Shit Robot, Ellen Alien, Busy P and others. KITSUNE and BUGGED OUT will rerelease it on compilations. Also, Munk's hit "Kick out the chairs!" feat. JAMES MURPHY will be rereleased soon.
MUNK remixes for YEASAYER, BOTTIN, RIVA STARR, ETIENNE DE CRECY, GLIMMERS, ELLEN ALLIEN will be out in Winter 2010.
