Around 2005, Karl Mohr used to re-create backing tracks for a performer named Superfluous (Jeffrey R. Smith). Part of this gig was laying down guide-vocals over the instrumental so that the performer could cement the vocal part. On this particularly ultra-gay Hi-NRG cover of Bonnie Tyler's "I Need A Hero" the vocal take was especially poignant - or perhaps the camp factor was simply high enough: it was worth releasing the recording upon the ears of the world. Predating the formation of Dead Red Velvet, this song nonetheless forms an excellent piece of giddy promotional schlock for Mohr's dark and murky gristle. (Don't for a moment miss out on the handclaps which are 10 or 20 layers thick.)
