Miguel Espinosa, a.k.a. Spin, has been involved in electronic music for 9 years and the last 7 in decks. His preference for house, progressive sounds, and the influence of deep make his sets appealing to select and knowledgeable audiences. Spin has played in leading Clubs in Colombia.
Since his return in 2012, Spin has been involved more than ever in the local and national scene. Bogota, Barranquilla and Cartagena are frequent destinations in the most important seasons of the year. Sharing stages all over the country with Stacey Pullen, Bill Patrick, Lee Curtiss, Alex Niggemann, Shlomi Aber, Hector; and recidencies in Radio Berlin, Baum and Sneak Peak. In this 2011 starts a new phase: Barcelona. New sounds’ research and investigation from the electronic music world based on a simple concept such as back to basics looking for his own sound within Colombian roots music. This led him to launch his first single in this ‘new home’. His first shows appear in Le Kasbah, ME Hotel, chiringuito Mochima, BLVD and W Hotel.
In 2010 Spin presents a new electronic music proposal that is controlled and re-mixed live using the latest software and technology, which enable him to create sets that produce a unique sensory experience.
2009 could not have been better, special events outside of Bogotá, like exclusive resident at the Hotel Santa Clara of Cartagena during the national beauty pageant and Year End parties. Noteworthy is his involvement in the Hed Kandi party in August next to dj Des Paul.
In 2008 was a year of musical rest and he participates exclusively in select parties nation-wide such as the Underground parties in Barranquilla, the Hotel Santa Clara parties in Cartagena, Club Cinema parties in Bogotá, and private parties in the cities of Bucaramanga and Cúcuta.
In 2007 he played next to Cedric Gervais at Penélope, Peter Bailey at Cinema, and Norman H at the Underground club in Barranquilla. This same year Spin starts promoting events and brings Single Entertainment to Colombia.
In August 2006 Spin opens the Ministry Of Sound Official Party next to Mark Knight and D Ramirez in the city of Medellín. Resident at Scirocco in Bogotá and Cartagena since 2006 to date. Invited as international artist to the Expo DJs World (www.expodjsworld.com) in México DF in 2006 and played in Living, Am, and Mai Tai Clubs in Mexico city; that same year he expands his cultural participation with the Nokia Trends House.
Spin has played in Morrocco events next to Tall Paul, Deli G, and Tokyo Project; at the prestigious Chiringuito Beach in the city of Cartagena next to Willy DeLoren (DeLoren & Colors, Spain), Miguel Alanis (México), Dj Fruto, Gerardo, Sur Communications, and Mario Castro, as well as at Playa Gótica, La Terraza de Gótica, and Morrocco. He participated in the Nokia Trends in Bogotá in September 2005 next to Moby, Ferry Corsten, and Darren Emerson. Spin has produced, mixed, and masterized, together with DanWein, the Nokia DJ Contest compiled CD which includes the productions of participating national djs: Magdalena, Johnny House‐In, David Vélez, and Jose Acosta. Spin was in charge of the KissDaFunk parties, English collective, in the city of Bogota. Resident at Tantra Club during the first half of 2005; was part of the Heineken Music 2005, and juror of the 2006 Selection, Human Pattern, Pornorama, and TotalmenteBogotana. He appeared on the show “The Mix Sessions” of the Superestación 88.9, and in the “El Fruto Prohibido” show of same radiostation with his own sets and tributes to Hed Kandi.
Spin launches his web page www.djspin.com.co; personal podcast athttp://mspin.podomatic.com/, and the newhttp://mspin increasingly positioning his monthly sets known as Technologic and Houseologic and his last edition was set 40 and special editions from live performances. His sets have had over 50,000 plays, thus assuring a resounding success.
