BIOGRAPHY:

DREW followed the evolution of the portuguese dance scene since the beginning, in the early ninety's as a fan, and fifteen years ago he decided to take a step forward and dedicate himself to the dance music. He is influenced by the Acid House and underground groove, so typical of the mythical club, Rock's, where he started to know and to get familiarized with dance music. His interest for electronic music started to develop in a early age so he began to gather electronic music like a maniac since then, building a musical knowledge which permits him to alternate between various styles, mainly Tech House and even some Deep and Funky stuff. A few years later, he joined Bimotor Dj, the leading vinyl dealer in Portugal at the time, which was very important because it allowed him to grow his musical knowledge even further as well as gave him the projection needed to develop himself as a Dj. After having the possibility to perform in some of the best venues in Portugal, he signed a residency at Subsolo Club where he had the honor to play with who's who in the portuguese dance scene. It didn´t took too long to embrace an international adventure as he joined Empathy UK Agency which took his name abroad, having the oportunity to play alongside with some of the top names on the scene, building a loyal audience and fans, gaining very good reputation and feedback in places like Poland, England, Croatia, Austria, Czech Republic, Lituania, Spain and Greece.
debut with the first original track, "When the Beat", on Bembe Recordings (SPA), followed by his rmx of the classic "Evolved - A Matter of Time", that came out on Mike Mucci's Amplitude Recordings (USA). 2013 is also looking good and, after releasing a brand new EP and a Rmx on two Colombian labels, Boogie Recordings and High Contrast, he as yet scheduled for this year some other releases on labels based in Portugal (AU Records), Spain (Flame Records) and Mexico (Tenampa Recordings).
Nowadays he has a monthly night called "Music Sounds Better with U", running for three years now at Canto Vivo, where he can regularly display his musical knowledge and influences. Recently Drew signed as an official artist for the Portuguese label AU Records / Club Cult, in which he will be releasing two original tracks this next few months. The future looks promising and the plan now is to keep on playing as much as possible, as that is his main passion, and to keep focused more and more in his production career so... we may expect some news soon...
