Bushwacka & Richie Fingers are starting a new night in London called Roots at Basin House, Kingsland Road, Shoreditch on Thursday March 8th. They're starting this night to highlight the roots of house & techno music as a lot of the music coming out now, apart from production quality, is exactly like what was coming out in the 80's, it's come full circle. As they say, it all comes back around.

I've also been promising myself to start a new retro series as many of the new generation of clubbers don't know all of the really cool old shit & of course deserve to hear it & love it just as we old timers have, so doing this mix for Bushwacka & Richie Fingers has given me a kick in the arse to start this series. This mix is 1986-1989 house music, mostly from Chicago. I will also be doing other mixes showcasing old school NYC garage, acid house, deep house, Detroit techno, hip hop, breaks & old school electro in this series & not just one mix of each of those genres, but many.

So here is the first of the series, Retro 1, Which was lovingly mixed using 100% vinyl with no post production or edits whatsoever so that you get the full flavour of the way it was in the 80's.
