MRAD (Merlin Rossbach and Andi Damaschun) is a full hardware generated techno project based in Munich/Germany.
Andi already played nights in and around Munich for some years as a DJ and also hosted own nights and open airs with the artist collective neoARTIG which he founded in 2009. While taking a little break from the electronic scene in Munich, he focused on producing his own sounds and on playing live.
Meanwhile technology enthusiast Merlin deepened and improved his existing know-how and acquired new skills in the handling of analogue devices. Besides that he also worked on different live projects and bands.
The two had been friends for years before their passion for analogue synthesizers, drum machines and raw techno music finally united them in a musical way. Adding more and more machines to their set and getting more and more lost in their passion and obsession for raw and analogue techno beats, their full hardware project MRAD was started in 2013.
Growing more and more together, Andi and Merlin were quickly able to create a well-functioning and dynamic workflow. In seemingly endless jam sessions noisy hats, mighty bass drums, mechanical noises, classical 303 basslines and radical dub-chords were laid as the foundation for their set.
Months of hard work, blood, sweat and tears followed and finally led to their first live show at Rote Sonne in January 2014.
Their live sets are very dynamic, full of energy and all about letting themselves go with the crowd and about creating unique live moments.
Together with another good friend they recently also started their own record label Tuesday Slump. Details and collaborations will be announced soon.
Expect some raw and fresh machine sound with lots of broship-love directly from Munich City.
