there are so few words for the energy that music shoots through the veins. it is as if we are incapable of making words that truly capture what the soul is, so we have allowed music to be how we all truly communicate. i am green at creating music in this space, but i yearn to communicate with each and every one of you.

I would also like to extend my sincerest and most heartfelt thanks to everyone who stops by, listens to, and shares their feelings on my songs. You are all constant and profound inspiration and i have been deeply moved and encouraged by you. THANK YOU and i wish peace to you all!

one last additional word regarding this site: I know there are a lot of people that shy away from large following numbers as they view this as "spamming". Please know that I would follow every single person on this site if i could just because i truly think the fact that we are all on here listening to each other's-and making our own- music is truly beautiful. Please please keep doing what you are doing because it means so much. Much love to you all, Piers.

Musically this is one of my favourite pieces you've done. The arrangement is great, never gets boring, the groove is very strong. Mix-wise I think it's one of your weaker efforts; the whole thing seems overly muddy and lacks mid-range clarity.

      2. Mr. Squirrel on November 17, 2009 02:07

@Wintermute: over the past few weeks hearing intermittently i've come to agree truthfully with that and i thank you for your honest ear. in addition, in a therefore somewhat fortuitous happening, release on this track has postponed indefinitely and ultimately can and probably will get a touch up. i think reverb on african drums could come down, and various other things relating to mid range clarity. cheers again for the guidance! :D

@Victorius: thank you so so much for all of your comments!! yes!! that is antiloop and i can't tell you the delight i got from someone recognizing that. blew me away when i was a young lad and part of the joy i got from doing tracks like this when i was doing them was the idea of literally colliding as much of my interests and favorite pure sounds into (hopefully the conceit was) reflections of who i am/was. lofty concepts to be sure, and for the most part it was really "oh wow, antiloop CAN go with noel gallagher can go with enigma can go with jamiroquai can go with elbow. haha." thanks again mate, your thoughtful and moving comments are so much inspiration and joy over here. :)

Like Mike said, this has a lot of sasha circa 96 - 99 in it.....really nice stuff man. And, as ever, the atmosphere is totally all-encompassing and immersive. Got lost in this one beautifully. Nice work dude!

@MoPetto: yeah this is one of those quite old beasts that would be cool to fix, if that were fully possible, and necessary... a good idea maybe despite being a flawed execution...hehe

i found this on the computer recently. a mash up i did of "The Eraser" by thom yorke, and "Colours the Soul" by Coldcut. there is also a streets sample in there. quite old (2006 right after the thom yorke record came out) and so it's a mess. here we are though....

this was the version of the track i originally made. Much more open vibes and honestly how i wanted it, but alas i had to drop the pinball countdown samples upon the songs pick up for ep release, and this sparked a whole rewriting effort that ultimately changed the song drastically. Still close...

I Love you man! As soon as the summer appears on my British doorstep you drop this amazing mix all that's sublime about music. Love the context you're putting folk into, absolutely right! You do indeed rock, in the most laidback thoughtful way. When's the next one?

      2. Mr. Squirrel on April 14, 2009 00:48

@hadj: brilliant!! i've maybe got another mix in the works. haven't made one in ages, but considering you and eight tracks i'm totally fired to do another one. thanks deeply for the vibes mate!!

Lovely mix, right up my alley. You should make this public for all to hear. If you do so then let me know and I'll post it to my Twitter feed: twitter.com/qburns ... would help get the word out for sure, & more peeps should hear this.

      2. Mr. Squirrel on April 14, 2009 01:10

@EIGHT-TRACKS: will probably do so in the next few days or so. i wish i could cycle the mix down so as not to be at the very top of the page when i make it public, that's been the only bother. thanks deeply though! cheers!
