MAN NO SIN SADLY (Rocky Mountain)
Composer: Rocky Mountain Written: June 1980
Original demo recorded: 1980 Additional Recording: June 2013

To Bri’s 1980 demo, we’ve added percussion and some stunning blues-harp from Craig Shaw, who also mentored the additional recording - couldn’t have done it without you my friend. This was all done at the Core Arts Studio in Homerton (www.corearts.co.uk), a truly inspirational place whose staff and members, too numerous to mention, have been so supportive in every aspect of the project. Particular thanks to Pawel Kucharski and Jono Trott for their invaluable help with the mixing and also to Melanie Knoedler for her haunting vocal.

The sun is falling, it sets deeply tonight
Deeply tonight, deep in my heart
The sun is falling and I won’t be alright
‘Til this night has blown away

I got this feeling and it burns down in my soul
I got this feeling and it burns like a hot coal
I got this feeling and it keeps me awake at night
And it won’t go, no not until daylight

You’ve fired your shot and it’s gone straight to my heart
Straight to my heart, torn it apart
And though you’re not aware, it’s a work of art
    My heart is torn away

I see you often and you say you’re my friend
Friend without end, what does this mean?
It means that I can never be more than that
I’m just a cat you play with

I got this feeling and it burns down in my soul
I got this feeling and it burns like a hot coal
I got this feeling and it keeps me awake at night
And it won’t go, no not until daylight

But love’s a mystery and you never know
When it will show up in your heart
And so I’m hoping for a love that will grow
    Up in your heart someday

    Brian Reeves: Guitars, Synths, Vocals
    Craig Shaw: Harmonica
    Melanie Knoedler: Vocals
    Gary Reeves: Drums, Percussion, Vocals
