Moscowfish is a way of thinking as much as it is a musical entity. Moscowfish was born and raised in the beauty and cold of Canada, but at this moment in time, we find ourselves living with our nano studio on Koh Phangan in Thailand.

While here, we've become the resident live band at the Half Moon Festival, a bi-monthly event that brings in international Dj's, and over 2,000 enthusiastic party people.
This body of work was written, produced, and recorded, in a 60 year old house on Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand.
As a studio, it's seriously got it's difficulties, but it's got it's signature of magic too. It was here long before the roads were paved, long before there was power and phones and Tesco Lotus & 7-11.
So, you find yourself very inclined to try to overlook the schizophrenia of the voltage, the shifting but ever present noise-floor that follows the audible cycle of the daytime/nighttime; insects, birds, lizards, motorbikes, buffalo, dogs, temple bells, chanting monks, a very very creaky floor, thunderstorms, the odd atomic windstorm,... you learn when you can and can't use the super sensitive condenser mic, you run on batteries while recording any analogue input to avoid those pesky voltage spikes on that perfect track, and somehow the crickets seem to make it onto most of the tracks and thankfully, they seem to be influenced by the b p m.
This old house has deep soul, it's infused us with new thoughts, melodies, directions, mysteries & revelations still to be unfolded.
In a sense, we've become good friends with this big beautiful teakwood tent, and know that you could long for many of the things that you will never have here like isolation, balanced power, etc,.. and yes, those are crickets on the foot stomping kick drum, and yes, that might be a motorbike or a gecko that you hear faintly on a vocal track, but at this moment in time, we wouldn't have any other way.
We adapt, we decide that it's okay, and we discover that it's not better, not worse, just different.
Sincerely,
Ea & Ted
