I very rarely listen to DJ mixes because I don't find them very inspiring at all.Not to knock on anyone but I've always found most DJ mixes to more just showcase tracks, going from track A to B and not doing much inbetween. That's probably why I just want to browse tracklists rather than devoting an hour of my time to listening to a mix!Nothing wrong with your those mixes, but apart from discovering some great songs, 99% of mixes have done nothing for me.

In turn, I set out to make a mix that goes a little further than that, and I think the title "BLENDED!" is more than fitting.I actually put this together a couple months ago and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I know it's a lot to ask, but it'd be great if you'd listen to the whole thing and reply with your feedback, as a lot of thought has gone into every aspect of this mix.If you want to have even more fun with it, try hunting down the original tracks to see how they're pieced together in my mix =)

Props to all the DJs pumping out the mixes too - as I was putting this together I learned a lot and really do appreciate mixes made for *listening* to a lot more than ever now. As a result, this mix is really made for dancing and not so much just listening to, there's a bit of a difference you know?

Anyway, it'll only get better from here, but I think this is a great start! Thanks!

@Clouse: Not super long, I honestly spent more time mastering it than putting it together. The mixes sort of just make themselves to me...the arrangement itself probably took like ~10-12 hours, but it felt a lot longer because I worked on this in my spare time over about 2 weeks.

My pleasure :) I had a suspicion that this mix was arranged in the studio (which is not meant negatively), because sometimes it seemed like to much to pull off with only two hands. I feel the same way about "Intro - Outro" mixes. Most of the time I'll just skip through the tracks, which I find kinda sad. So props to you for taking the time to be creative and push the envelope with your mix.
How long did it take you to make this mix (excluding mastering)?

@Clouse: Hey, thanks so much for listening and your interest! This mix was crafted in Ableton in my spare time, it originally started off as me working in Ableton to edit a track and sort of grew from there to the point that I decided to keep going and fashion a mix out of it. Some of the blends in the mix (like the Chromeo acapella at the end with the Little Boots track and Aerodynamic and Starry Eyed etc.) were lifted from ones I do perform live in Traktor, but a lot of this mix could not have been done on the fly due to the heavy editing involved, unless one were to play really specific edits or cuejump/beatjump around. Glad you enjoyed it! I should also mention I was excited to use Ableton as I could master the mix much more thoroughly.

Wow, this mix is very creative! Did you use 4 Decks or 2 Decks / 2 Samplers?

@Steve Glen: Thanks! I'm a big fan of the moombahton, and even moreso switching the tempo up like that to keep things fresh.

@Steve Glen: Haha thanks, I actually added this last little bit into this mix because I was just doing it in Traktor all the time on the fly. A lot of the ideas in this mix were inspired by the routines/ideas/whatever I'd come up with while using Traktor.
