I started to DJ professionally in 1986. Since then I have spent more than half my life either putting on the party or behind the turntables - most of the time I wear both hats. I am passionate about music and have spent over two decades crafting my own style of mixing records together be it on vinyl or with new technologies like Serato. The dancefloor is a special place and I take my role as the DJ very seriously.

In 2001 I came to LA from the San Francisco club scene where my talents have never been in more demand. My taste and style behind the decks have found a loud voice in Southern California. From 80's Nights to Heavy Metal/Punk Nights to Acid Jazz/House Music lounges to Hip-Hop Parties, I have developed a knack for hitting the dancefloor, gallery or lounge with the surprise jams, uniquely mixed that produce better than positive results.

The following quote sums it up.

“Few working DJs have the kind of experience and depth of knowledge as Mixmaster Noah Massey. From spinning house in world-famous clubs, to holding down the longest running weekly '80s night in the San Fernando Valley, you'd be hard pressed to find another DJ with the kind of resume and love for music as Mixmaster Massey. He regularly travels with 17 crates of vinyl, packed with everything from '80s hair metal to the most obscure, hipster-enticing underground 12-inches around. That's his secret: that he can, at any time, not only pull out the exact record you wanted to hear (without even realizing it) but then combine it with a track you've never heard and completely blow up the dancefloor."

Music
I have amassed over the years a diverse collection of music. I'm happiest when I'm dropping tracks from all kinds of genres and eras into a single cohesive set. I'm into mixing songs together that you would never expect to hear together and blowing heads with the result. Don't get me wrong, I can also be happy just digging deep into a single genre. Currently my crates contain:

80's Hip-Hop, New Wave, Dark Wave, New Romantic, 80's Pop, Classic 90's Hip-Hop, Go-Go, Hair Rock, Classic Rock, Classic Soul, Funk, Punk, Reggae, Dancehall, Dub, Rocksteady, Ambient Music, Soundtracks, Itali-Disco, Disco, Trip-Hop, Acid Jazz, Rare Groove, Children's Records, Spoken Word, Current Top 40, Current Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, Afrobeat, Current House Music, Classic House Music, Acid House, 2-Step Garage, Electro, B-More, Swing, Breaks, Dub Step, Classic Country, Bluegrass and Heavy Metal.

The genres listed are in no particular order; no question, the collection continues to grow.

In the fall of 2003 I had the opportunity to be the DJ Technical Advisor on the set of "Sueno". A feature movie starring John Leguizamo. I had to teach him how to DJ for his role. This included a private session and on-set support. This led to producing some audio for his one-man show "Sexoholic" running in New York from November through December 2003.
