SOUND ART musique concrete, sonic experiments, noise, ambient sounds (rural, urban, etc), sound archives, samples and collections
This new track is part of the new 'Noosa Sunrise' album. The field recordings were made in Australia Zoo, South East Queensland, Australia while I was travelling around the area a while back.
An initial piece was written and performed live at Transylvania Calling 2009 and a soundboard recording made. Another completely different piece based around the same field recordings was performed at the Sirius Art Centre, Ireland a month later and recorded. A third piece was composed in studio back in Ireland. I then weaved all three performances into the finished work. It's not quite live and it's not quite studio.
As mentioned above, the field recordings were made in Australia Zoo. Sadly that was around 3 weeks before the death of Steve Irwin. It may sound corny but Steve was a guy for whom I had a lot of admiration so his death saddened me greatly. I've referenced this in the music and this track is dedicated to Steve.
I hope you enjoy it.
The rest of the album is due out shortly.
